WHERE ARE WE?

We are in the City of Sunderland in the in the Province of Durham under The United Grand Lodge of England.  Sunderland is a coastal city in the north-east of England.

(if you want to know more about the city see the "City of Sunderland" page.)

Our lodge meets in the Wearside Masonic Temple, Burdon Road, Sunderland SR2 7DX on the third Wednesday (September to May)* at 7.00 pm. Our Installation meeting is in November at 6.00 pm.

We have the reputation of being the friendliest lodge in the Province of Durham!

The Sunderland Lodge was the first lodge in the Province of Durham to go “on-line” (in June 1997) after gaining approval from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham and the United Grand Lodge of England.

During the 1990s we had a membership problem dropping in 1997 to 17 members, but we have worked hard to improve our membership. During the “bad times” we relied on visitors to keep us going, but thanks to our web site our membership blossomed. We are now a more healthy 30+. Even though membership has greatly improved, we still encourage regular visitors and give them a welcome second to none! We are acknowledged as one of the friendliest lodges in the Province of Durham!

If you are a Freemason you are very welcome to visit The Sunderland Lodge No. 4114 and if you are NOT a Freemason, you may want to know more about the organisation and perhaps interested in joining the Lodge.

* A lodge meeting on a third Wednesday may not be the best night for potential members.  If a lodge meeting on another night of the month is more suitable still get in touch as we can recommend you to another lodge meeting in the City of Sunderland.

So if you live in the north-east of England and are interested send a brief message or questions. You need not leave your name at this stage and your enquiry is on a non-commitment basis. Contact the secretary ......... (click email address below).

Are you a Freemason? Why not leave a message which will be read out at the Third Rising of our next lodge meeting?
